Water troughs and gateways

Water troughs are a vital source of water for stock at any time of the year. These are of galvanised metal construction lasting for many years. They come in different sizes to suit individual needs.

Gates come in different types such as wood and galvanised metal. Wood is more aesthetically pleasing and can last for years if made from oak. Metal gates generally last a bit longer, are cheaper and lighter.

Deep mud in your gateways during the winter leads to significant poaching, the increased chance of horses contracting mud fever, looks unsightly and is never fun to walk through! An excellent solution to this problem is to put a deep layer of chalk on top of a hardcore layer which helps the area drain well especially if also serviced by a ditch or drain.
